PERSONAL & FAMILY CONSTELLATIONS

A Family Constellation is one of the most important group-based experiential practices in contemporary psychotherapy, and one of the most healing therapies on both a family and personal level.

“What happens in an experiential Family Constellations workshop is a phenomenon that is still inexplicable.”
Some relate this phenomenon scientifically to morphogenetic fields or the “field of knowledge.” These fields manifest as energetic fields that exist in the same way electromagnetic fields exist, but function differently, containing or storing information and energy from systems, groups, species, etc.

Others believe that the phenomenon of Family Constellations challenges any scientific explanation and belongs more to the realm of psychomagic.

In Primal Family Constellations, the Primal dynamic is integrated into Bert Hellinger’s Family Constellations model, while in Group Personal Constellations, a personal history healing dynamic is used, greatly facilitating the re-encounter with lost inner harmony.

  • Why do some people become addicted to drugs or wish to die?

  • What causes anorexia or bulimia?

  • Can some age-related illnesses be prevented?

  • Is it possible to prevent or heal serious illnesses such as schizophrenia or psychosis?

  • And other serious illnesses such as cancer?

  • Can I free myself from the chains that bind me to my family and recognize the deep bonds of love that unite me to it?

  • Why am I the way I am?

  • What patterns repeat themselves in my family history and how do they affect me?

  • What aspects can I change?

  • How is my fear of success related to certain events in my family involving my parents, uncles, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.?

  • Can I free myself from unconscious obligations passed down from generation to generation in my family?

  • Is it possible to recognize true wounds and heal them?

These and many other questions can be better understood when viewed from the perspective of Family Constellations.

What is a Family Constellation?

A Family Constellation is probably the most important group-based experiential practice in contemporary psychology. Increasingly, psychologists, psychiatrists, and therapists around the world use this methodology with very positive and often surprising results.

Constellations make it possible to identify many problems and their causes in a graphic and immediate way, through an image that also shows possible solutions. They are an especially effective tool for conflict resolution in interpersonal relationships.

What image does a Family Constellation show?

  • The image of a person’s past (and their family) up to the present

  • The inner image that keeps the person bound

  • The image that has permeated the soul due to the interruption of an “energetic movement” which, on a psychic level, froze the normal emotional development of that human being

What is the Family Constellations model based on?

The energetic (psychological) place that an individual occupies within a family, social, or work group conditions and determines their feelings and emotions.
Only when the individual occupies their rightful place is it possible to develop their life project in a harmonious and fruitful way.

How is a Constellation set up?

  • The client is asked what problem or issue they wish to address.

  • They are asked to choose representatives from among the workshop participants for the people involved and to place them in relation to one another according to emotional closeness or distance.

  • When asked by the therapist-facilitator, the representatives express their physical sensations and feelings.

  • The therapist, connecting with the energy that moves the constellation, makes various movements to restore order in the system or group, while suggesting healing phrases that help confirm the solution.

OBJECTIVES

What do Constellations workshops offer?

In almost all families, certain events have a profound impact on all members. These events deeply affect relationships between parents and children, siblings, couples, etc., and cause illness and severe mental disorders.

Constellations workshops offer participants the opportunity to free themselves from suffering, guilt, and unconscious obligations passed down from generation to generation, initiating a process of deep psychological and physical healing.

Constellations are a unique opportunity to understand the invisible bonds of the family network and to initiate profound change in family relationships.

In workshops, solutions that bring relief and well-being to family members are revealed, positively affecting not only those present, but also—surprisingly and mysteriously—family members who are not present.

To achieve the harmony and happiness we all desire, each family member must be recognized and given their rightful place of dignity and respect.

What can be achieved through Constellations workshops?

  • Balancing family, social, or organizational systems, and deeply understanding loyalty and when rebellion is healthy

  • Resolving conflicts with partners, parents, children, siblings, and other family members

  • Understanding and accepting illness in its systemic origins as a first step toward possible healing

  • Facing fear of death and separation

  • Learning to accept one’s partner as they are and improving communication and sexuality

  • Clarifying and differentiating emotions and feelings toward others

  • Understanding that our actions always have consequences

  • Recovering inner balance and developing a social commitment aligned with authentic desires

  • Achieving the peace and happiness the soul longs for

Who is a Constellations workshop for?

  • Those who wish to work on problematic aspects of their lives, including relationship difficulties, psychological disorders, or physical illnesses

  • Health professionals (psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, doctors, social workers, etc.) and educators

  • Business owners, executives, department heads, foundation directors, and organizational leaders

  • Anyone with a genuine desire to understand themselves and their loved ones

CONSCIOUSNESS

Introduction

From the moment we are born, each of us belongs to a family (or rather, a family network) that shares a common consciousness—a kind of “family soul” that unites its members and watches over their rights, even if they are unaware of it.

When a family member experienced a particularly tragic fate, or was forgotten, excluded, or devalued, later generations develop systemic identifications and entanglements.

This means that a later family member unconsciously takes on the obligation to “remember” those who were pushed out of the family’s mind and heart, or who suffered a particularly difficult fate without recognition.

The “forgotten” member leaves behind an energetic “empty space” that is perceived by others as “something is missing,” and a later family member may feel compelled to fill that space by unconsciously identifying with the excluded person and repeating their fate.

Another way to see it is that the energetic presence of the “forgotten being” remains in the family like a ghost, tragically affecting future generations until it is acknowledged and integrated into family memory.

BOND – BALANCE – ORDER

What is the role of the therapist facilitating a Constellation?

To accompany the movement of the “soul of the constellation” with the aim of resolving systemic imbalances by verifying three fundamental elements:

  • Bond and belonging

  • Balance between giving and receiving

  • Order
